UPBC-Day 4

This was outing day. Since there are lots of fun things to do in the UP, this is the day where everyone goes away from camp for the day (if they choose to), and does a fun activity. There are options from cliff jumping, to boat tours, to sight seeing with waterfalls, to hiking, to canoeing....and more.

We and the Thomas family opted for canoeing down the AuTrain River. It was about a 3.5 hour canoe ride with stops for swimming included along the way. I had never personally been canoeing before, but it was a mild river, so it was doable. I did not take my camera on the actual canoe ride, so there aren't pictures of that, but it was an interesting adventure. A highlight was Judah jumping off the rope swing at one of the stops along the way. He was so nervous to try it, but he did! There was a nice lady who took a video of Judah jumping and sent it to me (how nice is that!). We ended the day back at camp for dinner.

Here we are after our canoe ride. We made it in one piece, and Eric and I didn't kill each other!

Eric's ankle in full bloom

Since this year's "theme" was western hoedown, there were 2 small cowboy figures that were hidden every day, and whoever found them received free ice cream that night. Tru has hers in her hamburger bun....in case you were wondering why the camp was serving us burgers with feet. :)

Cuties

Some of the faces in this one LOL
