Kindergarten Here We Come!

I was just thinking that this has been the first summer that we have experienced a school year ending and beginning. This was the first summer we actually experienced how quickly summertime can fly by when the school year creeps up on you! So, here we go, sending our firstborn off to Kindergarten! I wasn't as emotional this year as I was last, but nonetheless, it was a mixture of happiness and sadness seeing our "baby" all ready for school.

Judah was very excited and there wasn't really much hesitation about going to his new class. He wanted to hold my hand walking down the hallway, but that was about it. He was excited to see his friends from last year. In his class this year, there are only five boys and all the rest are girls. He is doing half day Kindergarten, which we chose for a number of reasons, but mostly because we still want him home with us as much as possible. Our thought is that they have the rest of their lives to be in school and our time with them is so limited in the long run, so we want them home as much as we can during these younger years (this is the same reason we are keeping Eden home this year). Judah has matured a ton since last year at this time, and school was very helpful for him, so I am looking forward to the new ways he will grow this year!

Eric and I (and the kids) all took Judah to class for his first day. We stayed while the teacher read a story (The Kissing Hand) and then the parents were "dismissed". :) Here are some pictures of our morning. I will say that today (this morning especially) was suuuuupppper humid (and hot). My camera lens kept fogging up, so I'm grateful I got any pictures at all!

Asher's first haircut

Asher's hair was getting super long, so it was time for his first haircut. I took him to KidSnips, where I took the other two for their first hair cuts. They give you a cute certificate with a picture and lock of their hair, which is a neat keepsake. Asher did fairly well (a little fussy here and there, but not bad), and the lady who cut his hair did a good job. She was super fast. He had the fastest hair cut I have ever seen, but I guess that is good when dealing with a 13 month old. :)
