Seattle-Day 2

On day 2, we decided to visit Olympic National Park. We drove to Hurricane Ridge where there is a lookout-the views were so amazing. It felt like we were in a different land or something, since it's so unlike what we are used to seeing. I felt the same way flying to Seattle and looking out of the plane window to see the masses of mountain ranges as we were getting close. It's definitely something that provokes awe and wonder.

After we stopped at Hurricane Ridge, we drove a bit further and decided to tackle the "moderate" 1.8 mile hike up Hurricane Hill. I can assure you, it was no hill. We were told that this hike would "get your heart rate pumping", and it was no joke. But the views were so breathtaking both on the way up and once we got to the top. I am glad we did the hike, but I won't be doing that again anytime soon!

We stopped to take pictures at a lookout before we got up to Hurricane Ridge. I couldn't help but take lots of pictures of the beautiful scenery. It's so unlike what we have at home!

When we arrived at Hurricane Ridge, we saw these guys grazing with the mountains in the background-picturesque!

Here are some photos of the view from our hike up Hurricane Hill.

Almost...to...the...top...

I sat down to take in the views once we reached the top, and this little guy decided to join me.

After our hike, we did some more driving around Olympic National Park, and took Sol Duc Hot Springs Road. We had originally intended to hike to Sol Duc Falls, but it was too much after our Hurricane Hill hike, so we stopped and walked through the Ancient Groves (which was an easy short hike). There is so much lush greenery and it almost has a rain forest kind of feel.

There is this moss that grows over everything.

The trees were so big!

Eric had to walk around the bend to get our car after our little hike. I thought the scenery was pretty.

We stopped for dinner at the Lake Crescent Lodge. The views were great!
