Last Day of Vacation

We had a boat outing scheduled for this day, but unfortunately the weather (high waves and overcast) did not permit us to go, and it was cancelled. This was the most disappointing thing that happened on our trip, as we were really looking forward to getting out on the water, but weather can't be controlled. So, instead, we decided to visit the shark museum, and then explore the Monomoy Wildlife Reuge. After that, we headed back to Boston for some adventures before our flight. We had a great time!

Yikes! As you may or many not know, a number of Great White Sharks have been recently spotted off the cape. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't like to run into one of these.

As much as I dislike sharks or ocean creatures of any kind, I am amazed at God's creation. Look at these teeth!

Next stop, the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge. We walked some trails and ended up along the beach exploring. The Refuge is is thousands and thousands of acres of protected dunes, marshes, and wildlife.

This crab was not alive, so I let Asher hold it and carry it around. It was so cute because he wanted to take it wherever we went. At one point, we were moving on, and I told him that he had to put Mr. Crab back in the sand because he wouldn't be able to take him with us. He put him down and said, "I'm sad. I miss him." How funny!

Since we still have a few hours before our flight, we made our way to Boston. We thought the kids would like to visit the USS Constitution ship. We were also able to walk on a military destroyer ship. Pretty cool stuff.
