Visit With An Old Friend

My best friend growing up was Amy. Our parents were friends when they were pregnant with us, so we go way back. Amy has loved traveling the world, and ended up marrying and settling in Johannesburg, South Africa. Needless to say, we haven't spent much time together in a long while. We have both had kids (she has two boys and a third on the way soon), and we always talked about our kids playing together one day when we were little. Her parents live in Florida now, and she was visiting them recently and decided to buy a ticket to fly to Chicago before she flew home to S.A. She and her kids stayed with us for a few days and so we could catch up and our kids could all meet each other! What a treat it was! It was so nice to see her again, and the kids all got along great. They loved having playmates stay with us, and I loved watching them all interact. I especially loved spending time with a dear old friend-there is something very special about relationships that are from your childhood.

I didn't end up getting a picture of all five kids (well, I tried but it was sunny and Eden was crying because it was too bright, so no go), but here are some from a splashpad that we visited. All the kids had a blast running in the water and playing at the park, although Asher wanted nothing to do with the water. Asher and her youngest, Luka, were very cute together, and Judah loved spending time with Senai, her four year old. It was super cute because Asher called Luka, "Cooka".

I got a lot of pictures of Eden because she kept asking me to take pictures of her running in the water. She would say, "Mom, did you get pictures of that?"

"Mom, watch me run!"

This is hilarious-he got his hair a little wet and he came crying to me. :)

All better

How cute is this!
