End of School 2017

Well, we have made it another year! Judah has really enjoyed 2nd grade, and it has been a much better transition than last year. Judah has improved on his reading fluency and comprehension, writing skills, and learned lots of new math skills (including triple digit addition and subtraction and multiplication, word problems, etc.) and much more. Judah continues to enjoy his friends at school. His year-end character blessing from his teacher was "contentment". His teacher commented, that even when things are hard for him, he never complains and does what he is asked to do "usually with a smile on his face." Judah's favorite parts of 2nd grade were "recess and lunch", which of course both involve interacting with friends. He is definitely our social child. When I ask him what he likes about school, he says "everything!"

Eden has loved Kindergarten. She has looked forward to learning to read for a while now, so she has been very glad to bring home school books regularly as she learns to read. The second half of the year she really came out of her "shell". She was fairly reserved for a while, but after Christmas break she started becoming more comfortable in the classroom, interacting during discussion time, and answering questions from the teacher. She really connected with her teacher this year. Eden's year-end character blessing was "virtuous". Eden's teacher commented that Eden loves to learn and talk about Jesus, and it is clear that her faith is important to her. Another one of Eden's strengths is her imagination, which she uses in the classroom and on the playground. When I asked Eden what she liked about Kindergarten, she said "I liked reading and that Mrs. Curtis was a very nice teacher."

We are so proud of these two and all of the hard work that they have put into this year!

This is such a sweet class.

The K class recited some of their verses for us.

Getting the Bible award from Dr. Wrobble.

Mrs. Curtis reading Eden her character awars

Mrs. Blodgett reading Judah his character award

On the last day of school, the kids wear "spirit wear" shirts and their classmates sign it.

The kids always look forward to the school "kick out" picnic on the last day of school.

Even though Asher was not in pre-school this year, I sent him to "drop-in Fridays" at school with Mrs. Claus, which he loved.

Playground fun

Movin' on up!
