We have been talking about how we are getting ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus. We have the little people nativity scene that comes out at Christmas, and Judah is really enthralled with it this year. He and Eden get very excited to talk about baby Jesus' birthday. We have an advent calendar that has a piece of the nativity scene for every day, so the kids really like that, too. We were walking through Hobby Lobby the other day, and after spotting some nativity scenes, Eden practically yelled, "I want to see baby Jesus!!!" So cute. We have talked about the fact that we are waiting to celebrate Jesus' birthday, like the Jewish people waited for Jesus' arrival. We have talked about how it's hard to wait (especially when the kids want to open all the advent doors-ha!). We have talked about how even now we are waiting for Jesus to come again. He came once as a baby, a humble King, and that is what we celebrate at Christmas, but that's not all. He has told us he will come again as a victorious King, to claim his children, set up his kingdom, and make everything right again. I love that Christmas presents great opportunities to talk to our kids about things of eternal value!
I got some pictures of the kids decorating, although I was playing around with my camera, so he quality isn't as great as I would like, but oh well. :)
