Impromtu Day

This past Sunday, Eric and I felt like taking the kids to do something a little more different and fun for part of the day.  Eric suggested that we take Judah to the Field Museum in downtown Chicago to see "Sue", the T Rex.  He has really been into dinosaurs lately, and we thought he would really get a kick out of seeing a real one.  So, we had an impromtu trip to the Field Museam.  On the way, Judah kept asking to see Sue (it was so cute).  It was also his first time downtown, and he really liked all the tall buildings, the water, and all the boats he saw.  Needless to say, he had a great time.  We saw many things, but dinosaurs we by far his favorite.  His reccuring statement all day was "I want to see more!".

Some interesting facts about "Sue": Sue is the largest best preserved T Rex ever found.  Sue's skeleton is more than 90% complete!  Sue's original skull is actually not the one one her body (that is a replica).  Her original skull is on the 2nd floor of the museum, and you can see it up close and personal.

It really is a wonder to marvel at these extinct creatures and to think that there is still so much we don't know.

His expressions upon seeing Sue the T Rex

He is enthralled...

There she is!

This is what Judah picked out from the "Sue Store"...he was very excited about these.

This is a replica of one of Sue's teeth....it's huge!
