Last Day-Headed Home

Since we were in Lexington, we decided to stop at Washington Lee University to see where Robert E. Lee was buried (and his horse Traveler). After that, we drove to the Barnwood Living showroom. Eric loves the show "Barnwood Builders", and they have a showroom in White Sulphur Springs (West Virginia), so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit.

Well, we consider this a very successful (and fun) trip. Judah's favorite memory was "everything", while Eden and Asher said that they enjoyed "spending time together as a family". Eric said that his favorite memories included going out with Judah one evening just the two of them, and also hearing the kids sing songs in the car as we drive and listen to music. As for me, I can't really pick a favorite memory, so I'll go with "everything" AND "spending time together as a family." :) We will look back on this trip with many fond memories, and we also look forward to making more trip memories in the future!

This was Robert E. Lee's office as it used to be at the college.

This kid was cracking us up. We look over and he is relaxing in a chair and looking at a newspaper like an old man.

Right next to the Barnwood Living showroom is a cupcake and ice cream shop. So, of course we had to stop in for a treat.

Waiting patiently...

The reward

Our last stop was at a lookout along the New River Gorge National River.

I couldn't help but think that this would have looked a lot nicer if it was green. Still, it was a pretty view.
