Go Cubs Go!

Obviously, there has been a whole bunch of excitement in our house due to the Cubs recently winning the World Series!!! Excitement is really an understatement. Judah doesn't quite grasp the significance of this win, but he knows it is a big deal. We decided not to go to the parade in Chicago after the win because Eric had to work, and there was no way I was going to navigate millions of people with three young kids on my own. So, instead, we headed to Wrigley Field on Saturday morning to take in the sights. I wanted to get a picture of the marquis, and the kids wanted to write their names in chalk on the Wrigley wall (which was really cool). We had to be somewhere in the afternoon, so we didn't have time to see more Chicago sights, but it was great to be near the action merely a few days after the big win. It was a really bright sunny beautiful day (not a cloud in the sky), and around the stadium was packed with people!

So, if you go to Wrigley, you will see that there is chalk writing on the brick everywhere around the stadium. This started when someone wrote a message on the wall during the Cubs' postseason, and it really caught on. The writing continued, and now you can barely find a place that is not written on! People have written the names of loved ones that aren't here to witness this historic event, messages of encouragement, artwork, and so on. It was really cool to see!
