Boston- Day 2

Here are some photos from day 2 in Boston...

This is where we stayed. We didn't do a hotel but instead rented a condo, which was half the price and just what we needed. Plus, the location was great. This is the street sign to the ally where our place was.

As you can see, we stayed just steps from the Old North Church.

This is Paul Revere's monument right by Old North Church. It is one of the most photographed sculptures in Boston.

Copp's Hill Burying Ground: Some of the more known people buried here include the Mather family of ministers and Robert Newman, best known for placing the signal lanterns in the steeple of the Old North Church.

JFK Presidential Library and Museam

Blast from the past...

The most famous line in his speech

He's got my vote. :)

This is hard to see due to the reflection and lighting, but the space exhibit was neat to see in person.

This is where we had lunch. This was one of our best food choices while we were in Boston. Their sandwiches were SO good.

This was Eric's sandwich. He decided to order one of their specialty sandwiches, which had pastrami (something he would never normally order). It. was. delicious.

We walked the Beacon Hill area of Boston-very cute.

Some of these sidewalks looked like they were out of a movie or a magazine.

This street is called Acorn Street. It's so cute and full of character. It's one of the last true cobblestone streets in Boston, and it's one of the most photographed parts of the city.

This is the only photograph of me during our trip! I always forget to get in pictures.

Those cute doors!

Stop for ice cream? Don't mind if we do. A friend of mine told me that this was her favorite ice cream place when she lived in Boston. We were walking and just happened to see a J.P. Licks, so we had to stop.

We went on to visit the campus of Harvard (or "Hahvahd")

The courtyard area had these colorful chairs all over the lawn.

Sculpture of John Harvard. There were crowds of people waiting to get their picture taken in front of this statue.

Apparently, it's some kind of tradition for visitors to touch his shoe. Eric and I didn't touch the shoe, but you can see where many others have.

The library

As you can tell, I thought this building was really neat.

This is a famous pastry shop in Boston. It was packed at all times!

Street views

This was our last meal in Boston. It was a really cute Italian restaurant called Carmelina's. It's an open kitchen style so you can see them cooking the food. We had seats at the bar area, so we could see all the action. It was a really small quaint restaurant, and the food was great.
