My prayer is that this discussion, and Eden's prayer is genuine. I don't know how much she grasps at this young age, but I was so encouraged. Lord, please help Eden grown in love, knowledge, and obedience to you.

Eden's Prayer
This week has been a great week of being reminded of God's goodness and faithfulness. Yesterday, Eden wanted to bring a Bible in the car on the way to pick Judah up from school. She was looking at the story of Adam and Eve and was asking me lots of questions. She wanted me to keep talking about the story. This led to discussion of sin, death, and our need for Jesus. Eden told me that she wanted to be a part of God's family (this is the second time she has told me this). I talked with Eden about what that means (our need for God and obeying God with our lives), and she asked me how she could be in God's family. I told her that I would love to pray with her, and asked her if she wanted to pray after we got home. She said, "No, mom, I want to pray right now.", and so we did! I told Eden that a decision to follow Jesus is the most important decision that she will ever make. Eden said, "I can't wait to see Jesus! I want to show Him how I do my letters." Ah, the mind of a four-year-old.

Judah's Looses A Tooth!
Judah has had his first loose tooth for a couple weeks. He has been asking and asking when he will loose his first tooth since many kids in his class have started loosing teeth. He was very excited once we discovered that his bottom tooth was loose, but he was also afraid that loosing his tooth would hurt, so he wouldn't let me do a lot of wiggling. It was pretty loose last night, so Judah asked if we could pray and ask God to take his tooth out. So, we prayed last night and asked just that. The next morning, I heard Judah running to our room excited. "Mom, my tooth is gone!". Sure enough, it was. Judah was more excited that God answered our prayer than he was that he lost the tooth! He kept saying, "we prayed and God responded"...what a sweet story and memory that we will have! Thank you, Lord, for showing up in the big AND small ways. :)

Mother's Day 2015
I am behind on my blog posts because I have been working on a family photo album, but here are some pictures from Mother's Day. I had a great time celebrating my wonderful mother and enjoying a nice meal out. I was reflecting on how I fall so short as a mother-in my daily interactions with my kids, in my disciplines, in my spiritual life, in my love. And I was reminded of how great God's grace is. I am so grateful for that. Because of God's grace, there is hope for my children in spite of my human efforts. He loves them more than I do, and yet he has put me in charge of shaping them. He has put me in charge of being with them day in and day out, being His reflection in their lives. What an awesome task we as mother's are charged with. Thank you God for your grace. Thank you for being so much bigger than I am.
I love Asher's cheesy smile here. |
