Asher 18 Months

Here are Asher's 18 month pictures. He's so darn cute...

We love our little red-headed boy to pieces. He is definitely the "baby" of the family, getting hugs and kisses from his older siblings by the hour, getting his way just a little too often, and making us all laugh with his goofy antics. He is a very smart little boy. He seems to take in the world around him at lightning speed. He is very curious about all things and likes to make a mess getting into things. We often find him reaching on top of counter tops to pull things down, getting into drawers, eating crayons...you get the picture. The other two were not like this at all, so this is a new (and fun) experience for us. He is just so darn cute that we can't even get upset when he gets into mischief. He is also likes to cuddle more than the other two did at this age.

He has taken a while to start walking. He is a super fast crawler and seems to prefer that mode of transportation to walking. He has started physical therapy for encouraging him to walk; it seems that it is more of just getting him comfortable with the new motions since he really likes crawling. He loves books and balls. He talks a lot as well. Besides his jibber jabber, he has many words he can say and also likes to try and repeat words that he hears us saying, He clearly says Judah, Daddy, Eden (Edie), Mommy, Grandad ("Nandad"), ball, on/off, down, all done, bye-bye, hi, out, uh-oh, thank you ("tae-too"), shoe ("ooo") and others.

I'm always amazed at what he understands. The other day, I was sitting next to Eden and Asher and smelled something stinky. I asked Eden about the smell, and I heard Asher say "poopy" while pointing to himself. I was so amazed! He totally understood what I was asking Eden and then used appropriate vocabulary to communicate to me. And then today, he pointed to a picture of Doc Mcstuffins (a popular character in our house), and clearly said "Doc". I didn't even know he knew who she was! He is always surprising us. Of course, this could all be because he is a third child and is exposed to more, but it's fun to watch him learn whatever the case. Here is our little cutie!

I included this picture because it is so cute of him walking/standing, but I am so mad I forgot to roll his pants up! Ah!
