Asher still prefers to be swaddled to go to sleep. My pediatrician says that babies should be moving out of the swaddle around four months, so we are trying to work on moving him out of it. My transitional method with him is to swaddle with one arm out and one arm in, which still gives him some of the security of the swaddle, but also helps him learn how to fall asleep not fully swaddled. Hopefully we won't need the swaddle soon, but we will see. :)
As far as sleep goes, he still has three (and sometimes a half) naps a day. We generally don't have any problems with naps, but this little guy will not go down for bed until about 9:15/9:30-not a minute before. It's so funny. We have tried putting him down at various times in the evening but to no avail. He likes to hang out with us between the hours of 7:00 an 9:00 p.m., and is as happy as can be, chatting away and laying under his play mat. I will usually start to feed him for the last time around 9/9:15 and then he will go to bed. We have given up trying to put him to bed earlier in the evening because he just cries and cries if we do. So, he just hangs out with us which we really don't mind if he isn't fussy. Maybe he just wants alone time with us. :) He gets up once in the night around 3:30/4:00, but goes right back to bed after being fed.
His favorite thing to do lately is hang out under the play mat. He loves that thing. He is mostly content to just lay on his back, play with his feet, and look around. He just started grabbing for things in his field of vision, too. He is still a pretty gassy baby, although it doesn't seem to bother him much at all. This boy has some stinky toots, too! I am sure that he will appreciate me documenting that when he is older. :) He is still my best tummy time baby for sure.
It looks like he will be a readhead for sure (something I am very excited about) judging by his new hair growth. He is a big boy. He always has been, but he is really growing and growing. I will start putting him into 9 month clothes soon! He is starting to get a tad long for his 6 month clothes. Here is our big boy at 4 months. :)
