Asher 6 Months

What can I say about our little Asher-Loo at 6 months...well, for one thing, it doesn't get much cuter than this.  Seriously...it doesn't. :)

Besides being the cutest thing ever, Asher brings tons of smiles to our faces every day.  He loves his daddy and his big brother.  Judah can get him to smile on demand.  Judah will regularly sit by Asher and sing to him, talk to him, or show him a toy.  It is so cute to see that Asher already adores his brother.

Asher isn't sitting independently just yet, although he can stay propped up for a couple minutes.  He used to be our stellar tummy time baby, but he is no longer a fan.  We have moved to baby food twice a day now (lunch and dinner).  He is just now finally getting the hang of using his tongue to move the baby food towards the BACK of his mouth instead of pushing it out of his mouth.  He doesn't eat a lot of baby food at this point, but he likes fruits better than veggies (don't we all). :)

He is moving towards two naps a day, although he still really does need a short evening nap.  Most days, he won't go down for that evening nap, so we end up with some fussy evening time due to tiredness.  We still have Asher sleeping in the spare room/office.  I had hopes of moving him into Judah's room by now, but he still gets up twice a night, so we are keeping him in the office for now.  We have his crib set up in there (no longer a pack n play), and I must say that it's not a bad set up.  Although he still gets up at night, he goes right back down after I feed him (even if he hasn't fallen back asleep).  The fact that he isn't a great sleeper is totally eclipsed by the huge amount of cuteness he exhibits with every smile.

He grabs everything in his reach.  I mean everything.  So, we have to be careful of where we set him or when we are holding him at the table.  Before you know it, two chubby hands will grab that silverware by your plate if your not watching!  He is still putting e-ver-y-thing in his mouth, but still no teeth yet.  He hasn't had his 6 month appointment yet, so I don't have weight and height stats, but I think he is in the 17 pound range.  He has been in 9 month clothes for a while now.  Here is Mr. 6 Months...

I will say that the transition to three has been more challenging than I thought it would be, and I have been looking forward to the milestones that 6 plus months brings, but our family wouldn't be complete without our sweet Asher-loo.
