We have a beach less than 5 minutes from our house in Crystal Lake. It's a beach and splash pad area as well as a recreational park (fishing, boating, etc). It's called Three Oaks Recreation Area, but the kids call it "Culver's Beach" because there is a Culvers in there as well. We went there just the other day. Up to this point, Asher has refused to play in water (outside of taking a bath, of course). He typically just stands on the sidelines and watches. This day was the FIRST time he ventured into the water at the splash pad AND he even went into the lake. It took some convincing at first. We convinced him to fill up his cup with water from one of the sprinklers at the splash pad. He saw Eden doing it, and so he hesitantly made his way towards the water to try it. Once he got a little wet (with some "encouragement" from his sister), he realized that it wasn't that bad, and before we knew it, he was running around having fun.
