Overdue and Build-A-Bear

Well, this baby is taking his sweet time arriving.  I am three days past my due date, which seems like no big deal, but when you have been looking at a certain date on your calendar and anticipating holding your little baby by that date, every day you wait after that is a bit disappointing.  Well, at least it has been for me.  I just realized that if I don't have this baby by tomorrow, we will be having a July baby.

But, I am trying to have a positive outlook on the situation, realizing that I get another day with my two kiddos before our family changes.  Today was a good example of that.  Judah had made a stuffed animal for Eden at Build-A-Bear before she was born, and he gave it to her when he met her for the first time in the hospital.  I had wanted the kids to do the same for this baby, but we hadn't made it to the mall yet for some reason or another.  So, today we took advantage of the fact that I haven't had the baby yet, and we had no plans, and off to the mall we went (not to mention that a little mall walking couldn't hurt my lack of labor going on here).  We had a great morning.  The kids picked out and stuffed a cute bear for their little brother, and we were able to do some walking around.  We ended our morning treating the kids to lunch at Rainforest CafĂ©, which we had never been to with the kids before.  They loved it and had such a great time looking around at all the animals.  Judah thought it was cool that we were eating in the middle of a forest. :)

All-in-all, we had a fun time with the kids, and I am thankful for one more day to do something fun with our kids before things get a little crazy around here. :)

Water Babies

My kids love water.  I mean, they really love it.  Ever since they were (both) little they have never had a problem sticking their face in water, taking showers with us, getting their heads wet, etc.  Even at a young age, Judah would lay on his back in the bathtub (or pool) and float in the water with only his face sticking out.

So, it's no surprise that they look forward to playing in the pool, sprinkler, and with the hose when the warm summer weather arrives.  Eric and I have discovered that they love water so much, they let him squirt them with the hose incessantly, and they think it is the best thing.  They even think it's funny when he squirts them in the face....and I don't mean light sprinkles, I mean a firm blast from the hose.  So, this is the scene in our yard: Eric and I pull out two chairs-I hold the camera and he holds the hose.  We sit there as he squirts the kids and I take pictures.  It is hilarious.  They think it is so funny and they run around shrieking with joy, and Eric and I have some good laughs watching them.  And occasionally we let them squirt each other, which is also pretty funny. :)  Here are some fun pictures of our crazy water "babies" this weekend.

Little girly-

What?  You mean it's my brother's turn?

Big Boy-

Perhaps the funniest thing is that my son actually likes squirting himself in the face...at full blast, too.  What kid does this???

"Look Mom, I am going to squirt myself!"

Here we go again!
