Our Little Toe Sucker

This was Judah sucking on his toes around the same age

Judah Lately

My little guy is getting so big, and it seems like he is changing every week.  So, I figured that I better write about some of the funny things that he does and likes before he gets bigger and I forget!  Besides being the cutest boy I have ever seen, Judah is also (and more importantly) sweet, caring, sensitive, reliable, silly, and just plain fun to be around.  He is one of my favorite people to spend time with.  I know that sounds funny since he is only two, but I really do have such a good time with him.  He definately has his faults, but I am so very blessed to be the mommy of such a sweet little boy, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about him.
I was recently thinking about how unsure I was of having a little boy before Judah was born.  I am not a boy, so I felt that somehow that meant I would have a hard(er) time raising one.  How would I understand, relate to, or connect with one?  I certainly don't have a lot of experience in this are yet (with less than three years under my belt), but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that having Judah has been one of the single greatest joys I have experienced thus far.  Any fear that I ever had about having a boy is, not only completely gone, but even seems silly.  I sometimes wonder what in the world I was thinking!
Here are some of the things that Judah likes to say these days:
"I like it!"
"Yes, I did."  This is particularly funny because he uses this phrase to answer us even when it doesn't make sense.  For example, (me) "Judah, are you okay?", (Judah) "Yes, I did." or (me) "Judah you are funny.", (Judah) "Yes, I did!"
"I wuv you."
"Cool!"
"Be careful." (We must say this to him a lot)
"I do it!"
"I need cup."
"Oopsies."
"Give Eden kiss?"
"Mommy/Daddy, where you going?" or "What you doing?"
"I see ________ over there."  Fill in the blank with just about anything he can name.
"Bless you, Mommy" after I sneeze.
"Big hot!" (instead of very hot).
"Yeah, sure."
Other random things about Judah:

-He loves to give hugs and kisses
-He is very polite and says please, thank you, and your welcome (or "welcome"), and he apologizes if he knows he has hurt someone.
-He likes to repeat almost everything that we say.
-He loves to read his Bible stories and pray (which he frequently asks to do)
-He likes to give high fives and "fist bumps"
-He loves sports, instruments (especially the guitar), and vehicles of all kinds-trains, police cars, trucks, tractors, diggers, etc.
-He really likes chewing ice
-He adds "s" to the end of a lot of words, which is really cute.

One of our favorite things to do these days is after Eden goes to bed, Judah, Eric, and I get in our bed and cuddle with Judah while we read a book.  He likes it so much that he now asks to do "cuddles" before bedtime.  It is such special one-on-one time that we get to spend with him at the end of the day.

He is not particularly interested in arts or crafts of any kind (although he does like stickers).  If we sit down to color, it lasts about 30 seconds and he is asking to get down, and when we get his coloring sheet from Sunday school, it ususally has about three scribbles on it.  He is also not as much into animals, although he is starting to get a little more interested.

That's all I can think of for now!

7 Months

Has it really been 7 months already?  The months just seem to go by faster and faster (I'm always telling Eden and Judah to slow down a bit, but they never listen).  Eden cracks us up more than ever now.  After she turned 6 months old, her personality came out more than we had seen before.  She loves to "talk" and chat, chat, chat, and she can get loud...very very loud.  Of course, this is slightly different than our experience with Judah, but does that really surprise anyone?  She continues to hate being on her tummy, even still.  She has not rolled from her back to her stomach yet (although she has come close), and I think it is because she has absolutely no desire to be on her stomach.  When she is on her stomach she can fully extend her arms pushing up, but she is usually crying within 20 seconds.  When on her back, she uses her legs to push herself back and scoot, which is funny to watch.  She also likes to rock back and forth a lot while sitting or in her excersaucer.

Eden is one determined girl.  When she sees something she wants (which is really everything), she tries to reach it with all of her might.  Seriously, she will reach and reach and reach for anything at any time.  She grabs anything within her reach, including our faces which we have to be careful of.  She has grabbed and pulled Judah's hair a couple of times and even made him cry once....that girl has some strength.  Judah wasn't like this as much as he was more content just to chill out.  She is nursing about 4 times a day and eating pureed foods 2-3 times a day, but I am planning to drop a nursing soon, so she will be nursing and eating three times a day.  She sleeps 12 hours at night and takes a good morning and afternoon nap, so she is generally a good sleeper.  I look forward to seeing more and more of my sweet little girl's personality as she grows!  Here are some more goofy shots of our crazy little girl. :)
